Skincare during travel?! I currently live in Australia and recently enjoyed a three week holiday to the states. I always pack carry-on versions of my favorite makeup and a moisturizing sunscreen while traveling. During my visit, friends and family asked how I managed to stay fresh looking through all of the travel I do. Great question- right;)
Have you ever wondered why your skin lacks its usual luster following a bit of travel? Managing your beauty routine while on the go is a tricky one- especially if your skin is no longer in its teens and twenties. When additional care is required and bubblegum scented face wash should be tossed out, consider these tips.
~ Use pit stops to freshen your face. I like to keep a few drops of my cleanser and other skin care products for long trips in multiple Kraft biodegradable travel tubes that I found on Etsy.
The cleanser of choice: Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Brightening & Exfoliating Daily Cleanser. It gently cleans my sensitive skin without causing irritation. This was handy since my recent travel included an international flight with a delayed connecting flight followed by a twelve-hour road trip with my best friend. Thankfully my skin stayed soft and supple despite the climate change of traveling from the tropics to winter weather.
~ If you’re going to indulge in sugary beverages or caffeine make sure to drink plenty of water. Dehydration can make your skin look dry and decrease your energy level.
I moisturize after my cleanser with Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum and Kiehl's Hydro Plumping Re- Texturizing Serum Concentrate. Both products only require a few small drops and I love how quickly they freshen my skin.
~ When you reach your destination remember to make time for your complete skin care regimen- you will be glad you did. I routinely use Kiehl's Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash and then two face masks back to back. I do this bi-weekly regardless of travel.
The first is a Pure Tropix Jungle Clay Mask. This product helps minimize pores and tighten skin- giving my face a youthful glow.
The second is a Farmacy Honey Potion Warming Face Mask. This product is relatively new and was love at first slather for me! You simply massage several drops onto your face, let set and then rinse. This mask always makes my face smell like a honey pot and as my husband noted – irresistibly kissable;).
